Modern AU Ned in a nutshell:
- Born in York, England to Lord and Lady Stark but spent most of his younger years at boarding schools like Eton.
- Childhood friends with Robert Baratheon (king_of_7).
- Spent some time in the military before going to Cambridge.
- Met Cat while at Cambridge and eventually got married.
- Parents and two siblings died in a car accident during his mid-20s.
- Adopted sister's son Jon Snow.
- Travelled around the world working as a UN peacekeeper for 7 years.
- Knighted in his late 30s.
- Late 40s, married, six kids including Jon.
- Currently running a charitable organisation and spends a lot of time in various third world countries.
- Very technologically unsavvy.

I sometimes swap to canon Ned to write with canon Westerosi and I am more than happy to do so.
